Learning Milestones
Educational programs — Reading Eggs and Mathseeds introduced a new milestones system to show parents where their child sits in their reading or maths journey. The challenge was to design an informational page that would clearly describe the new system and visually convey each milestone in an engaging, easy-to-grasp manner. The milestone journey also needed to be visually coherent across mobile, tablet and desktop, and accommodate a global parent audience.
Cards were used to visually distinguish each learning milestone, with arrows establishing a journey across each achievement. A "scroll to explore" interactive prompt was placed within the cards section to encourage the audience to scroll down and access further cards — particularly significant on mobile, where it helped reduce the friction of a longer vertical scroll. I incorporated CSS animations for the characters on each page to add a layer of playfulness, and created an animation sequence for the top section which was later built out by the development team using Rive.
